Frisian flag 2023 was a wet edition, there were few nice moments to take pictures with sunshine. Also, the event was more austere than previous editions. This was mainly due to the fact that the runway was out for about nine months for major maintenance. This time the edition was held in October instead of March or April.
The field of participants was also somewhat less impressive than usual. The Netherlands participated with the F35. Also America did so with F35 aircraft from Lakenhead. Belgium participated with her F16 aircraft. Germany participated with her Eurofighters and Finland with her F18 aircraft.
Denmark and England also participated but these aircraft flew from a base in that country or from an aircraft carrier.
I was present myself for one day during this exercise. The weather was reasonable in the morning, at the landing there was a nice sun and in the afternoon it was gray.
