This year’s Radom Airshow marks an emotional and historic moment: the official farewell to the Polish Air Force’s legendary Su-22 “Fitters.”

After more than 40 years of service, these Cold War-era variable-sweep wing jets are taking their final bow. Poland has been one of the last European operators of the Su-22, using them primarily for reconnaissance and ground attack missions. While modern jets now take center stage in the nation’s defense, the Fitter’s ruggedness, smoky takeoffs, and unmistakable silhouette have left a deep mark on Polish aviation history.
The farewell will likely include a special tribute flight and a static display with commemorative markings. For many aviation enthusiasts and photographers, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture the Su-22 in its final salute.
